Precision Engineered and Manufactured in the United Kingdom

Hambini Bottom Brackets are amongst the lowest friction bottom brackets in the world. They are used by recreational cyclists, road racers, triathletes and time trialists from around the globe. They are of proven design and are manufactured in the United Kingdom. These units are of a one piece construction which makes them inherently resistant to creak, they will maintain perfect bearing alignment and function under loads in excess of 4000W.

Hassle-Free Maintenance

All Hambini bottom brackets can be installed and removed with a conventional bearing press, they use a controlled method of installation using the recommended fitting adaptors, they require no hammers or specialized tooling for removal. Additionally, the wearing component – the bearings – can be serviced in situ or removed within just a few minutes. The bottom bracket has been designed to be fully rebuildable.

Unrivalled Performance

Unloaded bearing spin tests are a poor measure of frictional performance but they do highlight good bearing alignment. The link below is to a video of a Hambini Racing Bottom Bracket that had completed 10,000km

Class Leading Parasitic Drag Loss (Friction)

The graph below shows how Hambini bottom brackets perform in comparison to the bottom brackets of other manufacturers. The test conditions model real world cycling and more importantly mimics realistic frame tolerances. All of these tests have been conducted with an eccentricity of 0.1mm which is generally the maximum permitted in frame specifications – the reality is tolerances have been known to be much worse than this. Misalignment is more critical to friction than the type of bearing ball material, a slight misalignment can easily outweigh the difference between a top of the range NTN bearing and a mediocre ebay no name bearing. The results show that bottom brackets which have an element of structural linkage between the drive and non-drive sides (one piece/threaded etc) perform much better than those which are multi piece.

The high torque and low RPM of pedaling causes high Hertzian contact stresses on bearing surfaces which cause friction levels to change over time. Those bottom brackets which have used ceramic bearings, start off with fairly low levels of friction but over time their friction increases dramatically. The super hard ceramic balls grind a track into the comparatively soft bearing races causing friction to increase. This would be analogous to trying to drive a locomotive train on a road, the wheels would cut grooves into the road surface due to the huge difference in surface hardness.

Bottom Bracket Stiffness

A Hambini BB is a one piece bottom bracket. It actively contributes to the stiffness of the bike’s pedaling platform. Threaded and multi piece bottom brackets have an element of play in their design so they do not contribute anywhere near a comparative level of stiffness. Reviewers of Hambini BB’s often comment on their feeling of improved stiffness, this is due to them being one piece and undergoing a proprietary heat treatment process. This makes them stronger and stiffer. This is a difference the end user cannot see – but they can feel.

  1. Bryan Rabeler

Very good no issues whatsoever. Service was spot on.

  2. Mike Henessay

Came this morning, installed in about an hour. Went for a 100km ride and it was faultless. No creaks, clicks or anything. The only difficulty I had was re routing a DI2 wire.

  3. J Cracken

Fantastic service from the start. Very prompt and exceptional product. it is easy to tell this is a high quality part.

  4. MariodaCosta

I’m a crit racer and was plagued by creaking cranks on my Cannondale. After three different BB’s I swapped over as a last chance to a Hambini BB. If this didn’t work I was going to put the frame in a dumpster. It arrived after about a week and I fitted it over the weekend. I usually like to try these things before racing on them but I didn’t have the opportunity. After several crit races I can report the BB has been totally troubleless. Bearings run smoothly and best of all there is no creak. Hambini’s customer service is excellent. Very customer focused and knowledgeable to boot. 5 stars across teh board.

  5. milesant

From start to finish, the service and product have been exemplary. The bottom bracket is well made, comes with the adaptors you need to fit it. Fitting was a doddle and all of my creaking has gone. The pedalling action feels super stiff now as well. Super impressed. Only negative is the price… and if you really care the box.

  6. TNRacingSnake

I’m a graduate of the following brands: Rotor, Wheels MFG, C Bear. All were billed as anti creak and all failed. Installed this and the difference is huge. No creaking and the pedalling action feels noticeably stiffer. Granted it’s expensive but you are getting a pretty qualified guy to make your BB.

  7. Kev in london

This is a well made BB. All of my creaking went with this thing. It is beautiful to look at and right up there with Chris King stuff. The cons are it doesn’t look like a retail product when you receive it. The instructions are a youtube video and some literature on the website. I’m old school and would like to receive a paper manual. In riding this cannot be beaten. Makes the drivetrain super smooth.

  8. MikeGP

Tremendous customer service. True attention to detail. Very well made. Don’t let the packaging fool you, this is a well made product. It will put everything else to shame.

  9. Mohammadsxrider

Had some bb creak, and was recommended this by a cycling club member. Works flawlessly. Local bike shop said it was easy to install

  10. TJ

to echo everyone else’s comments, Bottom bracket is superb. Well made and runs super smoothly. Expensive to install initially but after that you can replace the bearings quickly and easily. Customer service is a huge thumbs up. Very good customer service and responsive emails. You won’t find better. A+

  11. Marc Jackson

AFter numerous trips to the LBS, I decided to buy this to put an end to my creaking. Had a short email discussion with Hambini, told me what I needed to buy and it arrived 2 days later. I watched the video, installation was uneventful and off I went. The whole process was such an anti-climax but now the bike feels like I want to ride it rather than the thought of 20 miles of creaking irritating me. Bad points, packaging is plain brown box, nothing fancy and the lack of any written instructions aren’t great. Good Points, Bottom bracket is ridiculously well made, you can pick it up and spin it and realise it has been thoroughly thought out. It spins very freely. On the bike it makes the pedalling feel completely rigid.

  12. Darren Brennan

This is my second bottom bracket, the first one I bought the PF30 for my Boardman. This one is just as good, creak free, spins forever. A bit miffed the price is more expensive than the PF30 unit but even then, this is by far a superior design than anything else on the market. Hambini the man, is helpful as ever. 10/10 for service.

  13. Bryan Clement

I have been riding on a Hambini BB for about 3 months now so I thought it would be a good time for a review. The installation was a distant memory so I can’t comment on that much. In riding, this has been an excellent upgrade since day 1. It’s very smooth, the bearings last well and it has clearly been made by someone who understands ease of maintenance. All queries handled by the man himself. Thorough is an understatement. A+

  14. Bubbles34

I fitted this to my canyon aeroad. Fitting took me about an hour but in no rush. Cranks in the freezer and they slid straight in. I have ridden 2-3 rides of about 100km on it. It’s excellent. No creaking and feels uber stiff. Spot on.

  15. Mike Clenny

Fitted like a dream. Bike transformed. No creak and very stiff. A* Service as well.

  16. Kev Langton

Quality product. Cannot be faulted for engineering. It is miles better than anything else I’ve tried. The cranks spin so freely now compared to before. Not sure why I hadn’t tried this before.

  17. Clemenzea

Purchased for my aeroad, the fit is very good and all creaking has gone. IT is MEGA STIFF

  18. JacobCA

Worth every cent. Delivery was very quick. Bike is like a different animal. Beautiful piece of machining

  19. Josh Parkyn

Technical support before the purchase was exceptional. Everything explained in great detail. Great price, the box and packaging were shite. He needs to fix that 🙂 product is amazing. Installation was noisy as my bike frame was creaking but once in. Brilliant.

  20. Matt Bleinem

Tremendous difference, I fly up hills with no noise! Result.

  21. Paul M.

A thing of beauty, great customer service

  22. kevin blades

Not fitted yet not got the frame a superb looking piece

  23. Simon Thacker

This BB is a work of art – super smooth and stiff, YOU NEED ONE. Customer service fantastic : my crankset axle came up 1mm short – no problem – custom machined spacers in next to no time.
Unlike some, I love the “stealth” packaging!

  24. Tom Hummel

Used it for a Rotor 3d30 crankset. Fits like nothing I’ve every seen before, just perfect.

After one year of use, no sign of any wear, no creak, bearings feel absolutely new.

Other than the hideously high price, this is the no-compromise solution. I thought such things don’t exist, but they do.

  25. Paul Schulman

Order arrived in a timely manner with all pieces for installation. Looks just as quality made as my previous orders if not more so as being a one piece design. Any questions are answered as quickly as humanly possible.

I highly recommend this company and products to all cyclists I know. The price is justified by the absolute quality of the product. There is nothing on the market that will come close to this.

Hello, is this compatible with a 2021 Trek Fuel EX carbon mnt frame? I cannot find any frame BB dimensions on the net and I don't want to remove my stock DUB BB89.5/BB92 from my frame just for measuring purposes. I dislike the SRAM BB design and standard axle of 29mm (booo), so I'm looking for a BB compatible with the White Industries M30 crankset that isn't individual cup design. Thank you! Dan asked on March 9, 2022

If you send an email to support@hambini.com I'll be able to assist you with this.
