Fake Bearings

Counterfeit items present a large problem in industry. They pose a reduction in performance and possibly a safety risk.

Bearings sold on Amazon and eBay are often fake, it is very difficult for an end user to be able to tell the difference between the genuine article and the counterfeit item without specialized measuring equipment. Fake bearings are inevitably made to significantly worse manufacturing tolerances and substandard materials than the originals, they are renowned for poor life.

All Bearings sold on this website are 100% genuine. They are sourced from their respective UK distribution outlets and are not B grade stock.

The bearings are sourced directly from:

  • NTN, NTN-SNR UK, Litchfield UK
  • FAG/INA, Schaeffler Group, Sutton Coldfield, UK
  • SKF, Luton UK
  • NSK, Newark UK

Fake SKF Bearings

Recently a large bearing distributor in West Yorkshire, England was raided by trading standards officers supported by representatives from SKF's counterfeit products department. They found over £100k of counterfeit bearings from SKF and other bearing manufacturers. The total weight was in excess of 1500kg. Click Link here and second Link here.

The company in question was and still is a major supplier of bearings into the UK market.

This is by no means an isolated incident and there have been multiple operations in many EU countries where fake bearings have been found. A record £2m of fake bearings were seized and destroyed in Greece
